Ahoy, little adventurers! 🐨⚓️
Guess what? Captain PillowBelly has just sailed into a brand-new country — the Netherlands! That’s right, our fluffy, hungry, always-curious koala has parked his trusty boat, the Beluga, in the middle of magical Amsterdam. And the best part? He’s staying for an entire week of exciting discoveries, delicious food, and quirky surprises!

The moment he arrived, Captain PillowBelly spotted boats of all shapes and sizes floating through the canals. Some were homes, some were taxis, and some were… well, hard to describe! Before he could blink twice, a cheerful boy named Janwaved from the pier and shouted, “Goede Morgen, Captain PillowBelly!” (That’s Dutch for “Good Morning!”) The Captain, who always tries to speak like the locals, shouted back with a smile: “Goede Morgen, Jan!”
But there was no time for naps just yet. Jan had a secret mission: a school project about something called functional architecture (that means buildings that actually do something — not just stand around looking pretty!). Captain PillowBelly scratched his fuzzy head… “Fun-what-now?” he asked.
Soon, they were walking through streets lined with tall, skinny canal houses. Jan pointed to little hooks high above each home and explained, “Those are pulleys! They help us lift furniture into our houses because the staircases are too small!” Captain PillowBelly gasped — “A house with its own little crane?! Brilliant!”
But the adventure wasn’t over. They left the city and zipped past fields full of flowers and farms. “Are we there yet?” the Captain asked… at least seven times. Finally, Jan pointed: a windmill! Tall, proud, and spinning in the wind. “It grinds grain into flour using the wind,” Jan explained. “That means bread!” shouted the Captain, rubbing his belly.
And what better way to end the day than with a sweet, sticky, ooey-gooey stroopwafel? Yum!
After a full day of exploring, learning, laughing, and snacking, Captain PillowBelly snuggled into his hammock on the Beluga. He yawned a big koala yawn, hugged his yellow pillow tight, and snored like a sleepy windmill.
🌙 But don’t worry — this is just Day One. Come back tomorrow for more Dutch delights, curious facts, and cozy tales with Captain PillowBelly in the Netherlands!
