Captain PillowBelly travels to Scotland - Coloring Book

Ahoy Crew!

This week, Captain PillowBelly set off on a misty, magical adventure through the highlands and lochs of Scotland — land of ancient castles, mysterious monsters, and stories that echo through the mountains.

🏰 Castles, Clans & Legends

Scotland is home to over 2,000 castles — and Captain PillowBelly visited some of the most famous!
We tiptoed through the grand halls of Eilean Donan Castle, perched proudly where three sea lochs meet. We imagined knights in armor, secret staircases, and royal banquets filled with oatcakes and cranachan.

Each castle told a story of brave clans, historic battles, and royal traditions. Some are still lived in today!

🐉 The Loch Ness Mystery

No visit to Scotland would be complete without a peek at Loch Ness — the deep, dark lake that’s home to the legendary Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster!
We stood with a local boy named Hamish, peering through binoculars for any signs of ripples or humps in the water. We didn’t spot her this time, but the mystery made our imaginations soar!

Scotland has over 30,000 lochs (that’s the Scottish word for “lake”) — and each one is as peaceful and scenic as a bedtime story.

🥣 Highland Traditions & Tasty Treats

In a cozy village kitchen, Captain PillowBelly tried traditional haggis (a bit strange, but tasty with mashed potatoes!) and munched on shortbread cookies with a cup of warm tea.

Scottish people love music and storytelling. We listened to a bagpiper play a haunting tune in the hills and joined a local ceilidh (a dance party!) where everyone twirled, stomped, and laughed.

We even learned a few words in Scots Gaelic — like “slàinte mhath!” (cheers to good health!).

🏞️ Wrapping Up Our Week in Scotland

Let’s look back at what we explored:

  • Castles that whisper stories from centuries past.
  • Lochs that hold secrets (and maybe monsters!).
  • Traditions full of warmth, music, and delicious food.
  • And landscapes painted in green hills, rocky cliffs, and endless skies.

Scotland was chilly, magical, and full of wonder. Just the way Captain PillowBelly likes it.
